I am actually a 2nd grade teacher, and I absolutely love my job. I have no biological children of my own, but I have 25 in my classroom every day. I particularly enjoy incorporating arts and crafts in the classroom, along with subtly “training” the children to take care of their bodies now so that they grow up to be big, strong, healthy adults. Some of the food that parents send their kids to school with is just repulsive — I think some of those lunches have more calories than a grown man is supposed to consume in one day!
I have only recently begun to truly be comfortable on the Internet. I’m afraid that I will always be the type that prefers to hand-write a letter than to send an e-mail… this blog, however, may just be my way of trying to find my place on this big World Wide Web. If I do finally find the techie within, it will also help me out tremendously in my profession. I keep reading about teachers that are working computers and technology into their lesson plans, which is a step that I have yet to make. Maybe one of these days!
